Is Itching Around Vagina And Thighs A Sign Of STD?
I have been having sex with my boyfriend every 2 to 3 days for a while now.. but just now my thighs and at first my vagina had started to itch.. but it's just my thighs.. my thighs have become more darker around my vagina.. and if I scratch it so much it will itch.. what could this be?? One night I caught my boyfriend scratching his thighs in the same spot I scratch mine.. Could this be a STD?
Thank you so much for trusting us with your health query.
I am so sorry to hear about itches. Your symptoms are suggestive of genital fungal infection, probably candidiasis. You both would need to be treated to avoid re infecting each other. This infection can be transmitted sexually as well as it can be contracted from the environment.
I will also advice that you consider using contraceptives if you are not planning for a pregnancy now. Condoms during intercourse help prevent STDs, consider using them.
I hope you find this helpful. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and please do feel free to ask for more information if need. Thanks. Dr. Ditah, MD.
