Is Knee Pain Caused Due To Melanoma Removal?

For some time I have been experiencing pain just above my right knee. It appears suddenly and is quite intense. About 20 years ago I had a melanoma removed from that leg. During a routine checkup with my doctor several months ago, I did share my discomfort with him. He said that if I continued with this pain, he would like to see me again. I just wonder if it could be related to the melanoma.
