Is Knee Replacement Surgery The Only Solution For Arthritis?

hi,

this is ranjan,my father is having artheritis problem,we are from Gorakhpur UP,doctor had sujjested for knee replacement and advised to consult in Jagjivan ram hospital mumbai,his age is around 77,he is also suffering from diabeties and BP problem,please suggest what to do.

hello, if he is suffering from osteoarthritis of knee, with problems of hypertension and diabetes, and having pain so that he requires painkillers,
the options are knee exercises and joint injections.
however a permanent solution id knee replace ment, however even then exercises will be required.

Hello Rajan, I have studied your case and if doctor has advised you knee replacement surgery than you can go ahead with this. If your father is in Railway department than you can get it done in Jagjivan ram since it is a railway hospital.
After knee replacement patient can start walking in three days. Sutures are removed in two weeks. If your father or you are not in Railway than this surgery will costly for you.
