Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Kneeling Possible After Total Knee Replacement?
what is the full range of motion that I should have after going through the full 8 weeks of rehab therapy for a TKR? I had surgery on the 8th of Feb and have been diligent with my PT and have been measured at 120 degrees of flexation. Will I be able to eventually sit back on my foot, not just kneel on my knee? I see my surgeon on the 17th but was wanting to hear more than one doctors expectation if a patient followed through with all the therapy.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The type of possible movements depend upon the type of prosthesis used in the replacement. Usually the guided range of movements are allowed after different time period of recovery from the surgery (which may be 2-3 months).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
