Is Laminectomy Safe For Spinal Stenosis, Arthritis And Bulging Disc In Back?
I saw a surgeon a couple days ago. He says by looking at the mri a few weeks ago, I have spinal stenosis, arthritis in my back and a bulging disc at L4and 5. He recommended a lamanectomy, he didn t recommend steroid shots but the more I read about recovery I m starting to freak out.
It is understandable to be concerned. Any surgical procedure would be associated with risks but you must balance the risks with the benefits.
The risks are possible infection, damage to a spinal nerve, unsuccessful treatment or return of pain. It is possible you may not experience any of these complications, your procedure may be successful.
You should discuss your concerns with your doctor.
I hope this helps
