Is Leg Pain A Side Effect Of Aripiprazole?

thank you. I will also call my M.D. tomorrow, but I am concerned about possible side effects of Abilify, which I have been taking for two weeks, to increase the effectiveness of Cymbalta and lamotrigine. For the last several days I have developed sudden pain in both legs, similar to cramping and aching. I cannot walk on my right leg without pain. Can that be related to starting on Abilify, do you think? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I do not think leg pain is from Ability.

To me seems like a muscular problem. However, we should consider the primary diagnosis for which you've been prescribed Abilify and current severity of symptoms that might be related to leg pain.

Take magnesium and paracetamol for the pain until you see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
