Is Liver Function Test Recommended For Febrile Convulsions In An Asthmatic Child?
my daughter is 5 she is asthmatic&with febrile convulsion .she needs@least3 times acuteasthma mgtduring winter.she looks pale her eyeslooks slightly yellowish&she doesnot have any appetite&constipated.she was on regular cetrizine&becotide.my question is does she need liverfunction test
Asthma and febrile convulsions are not directly related to liver and I don't see any correlation in her symptoms and the condition you are worried about however if you feel her eyes and urine have turned yellow in addition to loss of appetite then I would advise you to get her blood / urine tested to rule out increased bilirubin which points out to a condition called jaundice. Please get a hemoglobin test done to rule out anemia. She doesn't need liver function done at the moment. Please give her plenty of fluids, fruits and vegetables in diet.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
