Hi, I had an ultrasound and my liver size is 155mm. Is it too large or dangerous condition? My report also mention that my portal veins are not dilated.I don t have any significant symptoms.I am perfectly alright except breathing problem some time. My hp is 11.9. I have pus cells in urine 10 and esr is 41. I need your assistanxe.Sarah.
Thanks for asking at Healthcare magic. I read your question and I understand your concern. Liver span of 155 mm on ultrasonography is upper limit of normal. Liver size varies according to age from 5cm in childhood to 15.5cm in adulthood. In normal adults on percussion during examination it's size varies between 8-12 cm while in ultrasound it is up to 15. 5 cm. If the liver size is in upper limit of normal but it's morphology and contour is not distorted then you should not be worried. However if Hb was decreasing much and ESR was getting raised then do coombs test, CT abdomen with contrast. As you have ten pus cells do urine C/S and then - contact healthcare provider. I would like to advise you not to be worried. Take plenty of water 8-12 glasses of water use cranberry juice. Hope it helps best.
