Is Long, Light Bleeding After Childbirth And Breastfeeding Normal?

I gave birth coming up 6 weeks ago this week, I had light bleeding after this for 2 weeks. At around 4 and a half weeks I got my period back. I am not breastfeeding and have been told this can happen when not. I have been bleeding for 7 days and it was beginning to get light but has come back heavy again. Just wondering is this normal for a period after birth to be like. Previously before being pregnant I would bleed lightly for 5 days and stop. Thankyou

Hello ma'am and welcome.

At times the first period after pregnancy or the first 2-3 can be different from the usual ones and is considered normal. Do not worry about it, a d report to a doctor if this occurs more often.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
