I am taking Dilaudid, after I broke my hip. I have been taking them for 4-5 months. 1 a day. Are they aditing ? They help my pain, also they give me a lot of energy. Icannot get them refilled. But I am going back for more surgery in 5 weeks. When should I stop taking them before surgey ? They r 2mg. tabs.
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) is an addictive prescription drug. It should not be stopped immediately. The dose of the medication should be lowered gradually. I recommend to lower the dose at least one month before the surgery.
Hope my answer was helpful.
If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
Kind regards!
