I am a Thyroid cancer survivor and have had a total thyroidectomy as well as had RAI treatment. I have been taking 150mg of Synthroid for a few months now but recently have not been feeling well so had my blood work done and it came back with my TSH level at 0.06. I am feeling very anxious, tired and have a constant headache as well as aching joints and trouble concentrating. I am just concerned as to how low is too low?
Supplemental thyroid hormone is usually prescribed following a thyroid surgery or being diagnosed with hypothyroidism. however, dose of thyroid hormone ( synthyroid in ur case) is usually titrated with observation of TSH levels. since your TSH levels came out quite low, its better to discuss with treating physician or thyroid specialist to decrease the dose to 100mg and observe TSH values after 6 to 12 weeks.
wish you good and sound health. best regards DR Malik
