Is Low Body Temperature A Matter Of Concern?

My fiancé is relatively healthy. He started feeling dizzy and ‘off’ while in the pool today and hasn’t gotten much better. Lethargic and tired. I took his temperature and it was 95.9. Is this cause for concern? His body actually feels pretty warm (prompted me to take his temperature in the first place). He has been eating and drinking fluids. Should we take a trip to the hospital?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms could be from anemia or hypoglycemia. For that hb estimation and random blood sugar estimation can be done. I suggest you to investigate with serum TSH estimation as well to rule out hypothyroidism. Otological evaluation also should be done as it also can lead dizziness. I suggest you to consult physician for examination.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
