Is Low Hemoglobin A Cause For Concern For A 41-year-old?
My age is 41 years old.... Now I m pregnant 15weeks ..for second child ...Doctor confirm that I having pressure 160 and my hemoglobin very low at 7... Now plan to eat pistachio, almond and cashew nut at morning is it good for me or not please help me or guide me in correct way thank you
You need to get supplements for iron and folic acid to normalise the blood levels. With pregnancy plasma volume increases so some hemoglobin drop is evident and requirements of body also tend to increase so synthesis is also partially decreased however in your case these are markedly decreased.
At this moment activity level should be decreased for a week or two and level should be repeated after two to four weeks. If oral iron isn't tolerated parenteral replacement or injection may be needed.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
