Is Low Salt Diet And Decreased Water Intake The Right Way To Treat Kidney Insufficiency?

hi, great I barely do a mistake..as a dietitian. now, the patient was diabetic (now corrected with diets and medications), has kidney insufficiency, edema on extremities. also Has hypernatremia (145), I gave her a low salt diet and not more than 1000 mL fluids + liquids in meals (~ 600mL). The physician says low salt diet + extra water (2 cups extra), I can t accept his order. don t know why? would you please help?
