Is Lung Heaviness A Cause For Concern In An Asthma Patient?

I am feeling a heaviness in my lower lungs making it a little difficult to breath. this has increasingly gotten worse over the past couple of weeks. I am 63 and have allergy related asthma and in Texas our humidity is very high right now so I am hoping this is what is causing my problems. I am using my inhaler but it doesn't seem to be helping. What do you suggest?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to health care magic..

Your chest heaviness could be from bronchoconstriction induce by asthma attack...

For which first investigate with spirometry to asses severity and accordingly management ....

Here you might given nebulization therapy with levosalbutamol three times a day and budesonide two times a day for three days ..It will improve your respi.conditions ...

Than maintenance inhaler taken regularly like foracort (with peak flow measurement daily.)

Take allegra M tablet for 15 days ...

After recovery from acute attack try to search allergen like dust , food, cold etc that lead allergy in your case ...For that allergy testing done like patch test ....

Your auscultation done to heard rhochi ...

Hope your concern solved ..

Although this is best advise nothing replace examination , so consult pulmonologist for that ...
