Is Magnesium Helpful In Treating Atrial Fibrillation And Insomnia?

I have a-fib went on amiodoron and had a cardio version. I did not work and they took me off medicine and put me on atenolol. Have steady a-fib and I feel every beat. Also have very bad insomnia. Took Multaq also and that worked most of the time for 1-1/2 years then stopped working. I have heard that magnesium would help both problems. Please give your opinion. Thanks

Hello
Magnesium has been shown in scientific papers to help with insomnia.

Magnesium deficiency can aggravate or cause afib, so if he's magnesium deficient it would help there, too.

That said, before he starts taking a magnesium supplement, he should discuss it with his doctor
