Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Medical Attention Necessary For Wheezing And Breathing Difficulty?
I did a lot of dusting this weekend. I will wear a mask next time but I have lingering breathing trouble 24 hours later almost like wheezing but not too bad. Should I seek medical help or wait to see if it clears on it s own. My sinuses reacted to but meds helped that. I have used an inhaler before but do not have one now.
You had difficulty in breathing and mild wheezing. These are very common symptoms after dusting. There is no need to worry as these can occur in healthy patient.
Considering other factors if you had any risk factors like old age, smoking or any other lung abnormality then immediate attention is required for wheeze and breathlessness.
If you had any of the risk factors it is advised to go for lung investigations as follows: 1. X-ray chest 2. Vital Capacity (lung volumes) 3. Lung auscultations 4. Oxygen saturation
If everything is normal, you can ignore and go ahead. If there is abnormality, you can consult us at any time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vamsi Krishna Chittimoju
