Is Microdisectomy Advisable For Disc Herniation In The L5 S1?
I have a herniated L5 S1 with a extruded fragment extending leftward inferior ly along the S1 vertibral body. There is a mass impression on the the thecal sac with spinal canal narrowed measuring 6mm, there is significant encroachment on the left neural foremen affecting left nerve root. Neurosurgeons are booked out 3 months is it ok to let a spinal othropedic surgeon do a microdisectomy to relive pain??

Multiple parameters have to be discussed out and evaluated after history, physical examination, type of work after surgery as well as MRI findings, pros and cons of different modalities of management. There are best results of micro discectomy in selected patients with expert spinal orthopedic surgeon, but individual case has to be figured out at clinic set up only.
