General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Bulging discs on lumbar area L2L3,L5S1 causes symptoms of pain ,weakness or tingling on lower back and legs. But shoulder blade pain and arm pain is not related to this. This can be due to repetitive stress injury or disc problems in cervical spine. A thorough examination with orthopedician will be helpful to rule out this. X ray followed by MRI of cervical spine might be required to prove it also. Muscle relaxants , NSAIDs , neurotropic drugs , physiotherapy and muscle strengthening exercises will be helpful to clear this also. Surgery is only the last option to think if these are not working.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
