Is Missed Menstrual Periods Despite Taking Contraceptives A Cause For Concern?
Hi I am on birth control. I ve been on the same one for 3 years. But my doctor changed them three months ago. I don t take them like I m suppose to but I do take them. My question is why hasn t my period came on ? Its four days late. I am sexually active but I only do it with protection. Please help!
No method of contraception is 100% effective. Although if you are taking OCP then its very less likely to get pregnant. Sometimes stress is related to delay in menstruation. There are other factors as well. I suggest you wait for another few days and then take a urine pregnancy test. Ig it comes negative seek help from a gynecologist. She will guide you further on this.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
