Is Missing Few Dosages Of Blood Thinner Medication By A Stroke Victim A Concern?

I was giving my dad clopidogrel and ran out last thursday. I thought it was his oxibutynin so didn t worry about refilling because we were out of town. However, I realized tonight it was his blood thinner I was out of not his oxibutynin... He has been a stroke victim so I m worried he might have another stroke without the blood thinner. I sent my husband to get the medication.... should I just give him 1 pill or start him with 2?

Hi,

You have missed the anticoagulant therapy for some days so the risk of stroke is increased. Unfortunately you can't do anything for that.

You can start giving him two tables as soon as you can.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
