Is My Chance Of Getting Pregnant More Because Of Feeling Of Ovulation Pain When Implanon Is Inserted?
I had my implanon inserted in January of 2011, my ob told me it would be ok to leave it in until feb. However, I felt an ovulation pain on my left side. I do not even remember my last menstrual cycle, do I have a greater chance of getting pregnant because I am so close to the 3 year mark?
Hi, Thanks for the query. Sometimes the protective effect of implanon may decrease towards the end of functional period. But just by symptoms we cannot come to one conclusion regarding pregnancy. If you had intercourse around the time of suspected ovulation, once go for blood test for pregnancy after two weeks of intercourse. If the test comes negative, the possibility of pregnancy is less. You can continue with implanon with additional protection during intercourse. If not to be on safe side, you can go for new implantation. Take care.
