Is My Eye Pressure Increased Due To Prolensa Eye Drops And Prednisolone Actetate?
Just had cataract surergy 6 weeks ago and had a little emda in right eye so he gave me prolensa eye drops once a day and prednisolone actetate 4 times a day and then when I went back my presser went to 26 in both eyes- so he told me to come back in 5 weeks for recheck in presser and the presser before was 22-but if presser is not better he will start me on drops for gulcoma- but my eyes are very very senitive to light and my eye sight is worse- he thought the drops cause the presser to rise. Could this be true and should we be waiting that long Darlene
Hello Did your doctor tell you that you had corneal edema after cataract surgery? Post-operative corneal edema is a commonly occurs and settles down after medications. If you have developed secondary glaucoma(due to medications like steroids or due to the cataract surgery) ,it will be ideal to start you on anti glaucoma medications like Dorzolamide or Timolol maleate (depending on your systemic problems) . The corneal edema can cause your eyes to be sensitive to light.Wear shades and follow up with your doctor.
