Is My New Born Baby Safe Weighing 6lbs 3 Oz?

I just had a new born baby girl on March 1st 2014 and she was 6 pounds 8 oz she lost one pound when she left the hospital and 4 day later on the 6th she weighed 6lbs 2 oz now she ways 6lbs 3 oz is our baby ok with her weight gain or should she weigh more

Hello. Thank you for your question. Congratulations on the birth of your baby. the overwhelming majority of newborns lose weight in the first few days of life. This is common and normal. It can take 2-3 weeks for the newborn baby to regain her birthweight. the numbers you report are good numbers. Don't be worried.
