Hi My name is Raj my semen test report is as per information below. I want to know whether my semen report is normal & fine for being parent.
active motile 30% moderately motile 30% sluggish motile 15% non-motile 25% pus cells 2-3/HPF color whitish amount 2.5ml reaction alkaline liquefaction normal viscosity normal total count 68 million/ml
Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of semen analysis report is as follows: 1. The color- whitish, pH- alkaline, liquefaction time- normal, viscosity- normal is within normal limits. 2. Semen volume- 2.5 ml and sperm count- 68 million/ ml is within normal limits. Normal semen volume should be atleast 2 ml per ejaculate and sperm count should be atleast 20 million per ejaculate. Thus, semen volume ans sperm count is within normal limits. 3. Motility - active motility of sperms should be atleast 50%. Your report reports only 30% sperms having active sperm motility. Thus the motility is less than normal. 4. No pus cells should be present in the semen. Presence of pus cells in semen suggests presence of infection.
You need to get treatment for the infection and get the semen test repeated after clearing infection.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
