Is My Transabdominal And Transvaginal Scan Normal?

I just got results of my ultrasound examination: transabdominal and transvaginal: What s they found: Left ovary shows evidence of a complex somewhat hyper vascular mass which may represent a collapsed cyst vs solid mass lesion. I don t have any symptoms, no pain, my period is normal, CA125 blood result- 22. I m worried it s could be CA?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

In most laboratories, the normal value for CA125 is less than 35 U /ml. That means a malignancy is less likely in your case. You need to discuss with your doctor to have a repeat scan after few weeks. The size of the mass is not mentioned so it is difficult to say if a surgery will benefit you. Usually masses more than 4 cms and causing pelvic pain are treated by surgery.
