Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was prescribed Zoloft; I THINK one of the side-effects is nausea... is that correct? secondly, 2 of my daughters had taken wellbutrin - is that any better? I am suffering from nausea anyway and, I ve been a bit depressed... I m typically nauseous 1 or 2 times a day... NOW it seems with just the first 2 doses, I m nauseous almost all the time (this is only my 2nd day)
Since you have been prescribed Zoloft and now you are getting very nauseous, you should report to your treating doctor so that some other medication can be given that suits your better. Wellbutrin also has similar side effects like nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, etc.
You are suggested to get few blood workouts and imaging tests done to detect the cause of nausea. Nausea may be a side effect of certain medicines but it often occurs due to acid reflux, gastritis, dehydration, taking alcohol, liver dysfunction or developing ulcer. Get treated at the earliest.
Avoid addictions if any. Stay well hydrated. Avoid stress and anxiety. Take food in time, you can take small meals multiple times a day. Cut on spicy oily junk food. Take home made nutritious food. Avoid sedentary lifestyle. Stay active and cheerful.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
