Is Neck Swelling Related To Thyroid?

Gland in my neck swelled suddenly then went down within half an hour. Remained sore for a few days. Beforehand I was feeling very tired and exhausted. Could it have to do with my thyroid ( as I m on thyroid medication ) or do you think it could have been viral? I seem to be ok now. This happened 5 days ago

You have not given location of gland. It may be a lymphatic gland . The the source of infection be in organ from which it drains. You have written thyroid medicine but have not specified hyper or hypothyroid. With all information you have to consult your family physician.
