Dear Sir/Mam, My brother is having night blindness by birth we have been consulting to doctor from past 20years they said that it will not be cured but with the medicines the eye sight will not be reduced. In May we have consulted the doctor again now they are telling that the eye sight is getting reduced at the age of 35-40 he will totally lose his eye sight. and my question is, can the problem be curable or not if there it is curable what is the process and whom must we meet.
Hello Night blindness if caused by vitamin A deficiency is curable but in conditions caused by congenital and inherited conditions it is not curable. However low visual aids can be used to improve the visual acuity. Hence do consult your ophthalmologist for examination and diagnosis of the condition so that the next plan of treatment can be done depending on the diagnosis.
Thank you
