Is Nitrofurantoin Intake Safe During Pregnancy?
i am pediatrician and now pregnant in 6 week i have bacteruria and i did urine culture result was klebsiella pneumonae sensitive to augmentin, zinnat and nitrofurantoin shall i take any one of these dugs in the first trimester and which one of them is the most safe or i can wait till the 2nd trimester

As you are 6 weeks pregnant you can use nitrofurantoin (100mg twice daily) to treat the urinary tract infection. You can take the medication and there is no need for you to wait till 2nd trimester.
