Hi, my wife and I have had the 6 week scan on a Thursday and it come up with a healthy baby so far and a strong heartbeat @ 6weeks 2 days in size. She started having cramping and dark spotting so we went back to the doc for another scan today (Tuesday, so only 5 days since the first scan)). the heartbeat was still present but the size of the baby was still measured @ 6weeks and 2 days. The first scan was done on a different machine to the one this doc used and he said that it may be the machine but we had a miscarriage a few months ago and we are really concerned. Should we be concerned that in the space of 5 days the baby hasn't grown or could this be due to different ultra sound machines??
hello sir,I understand your concern. In my opinion there might be subjective variation. So its not that it hasnot grown. It might be normal.Dont worry. But as she had pain with spotting it might be good to rule out if it was due to hormonal abnormalities like thyroid abnormalities or progesterone insufficiency or just cervical bleeding.Take adequate rest and avoid physical strain and intercourse.Dont worry.
