Hello, I'm 36week pregnant and my sonography was done in 32nd week, according to doctor femur length of baby was corresponding to 30th week and after that there is no significant increase in my weight or my tummy. i m little concerned abt the height of a baby. I have already started with high protein diet bt no change. Pls advice me as to what does it indicate.
Hello, Estimation of the femur length alone as the criterion of growth arrest is not a proper procedure. This short femur may be genetic, in families with hereditary short stature. There should be an overall appraisal including BPD, abdominal circumference, fetal biophysical profile and so on. Sometimes, there may be a temporary arrest which later on is made up. So, please do not worry. Have a regular follow up, maintain the high protein diet along with plenty of fluids and take rest in left lateral position to improve placental circulation. Hope this helps.
