Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Numbness In Nose And Thigh Be Related To Anxiety?
My daughter suffers from anxiety. She is 19. She has gone to stay away from home for a couple of months. She has developed a numb patch on her thigh which has lasted for a couple of weeks. Her nose has gone numb today. Is this likely to be related to her anxiety or does she need to see a doctor?
I went through your details. I suggest you not to worry much. You already are sure that your daughter is suffering from anxiety. How? Did you got her consulted by a psychologist / psychotherapist? If no, please do it. No self diagnosis please. From the look and feel of your details, she must be suffering from anxiety disorder named somatoform disorder. Though with these given symptoms, it is hard to conclude. Somatoform disorder means body symptoms which may not have any organic base.
Please post a direct question to me in this website with all the detils you can offer including her age and mood. I shall prescribe some psychotherapy techiniques which shall help her to come out of anxiety disorder. http://psychocure.blogspot.com/
Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications. Good luck.
