Is Numbness In The Small Finger An Indication Of A Fracture?

I went to catch a dresser that was starting to tip over and right afterwards, my pinky finger went numb for about 30 minutes. Then a few hours later I noticed in the middle of the finger, it started turning black and blue. I m able to bend it but even 2 days later, it s still stiff and sore. Did I just contuse it or is it possible that I broke it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Did you have swelling after injury? As your finger is stiff, so do x-ray of that finger immediately.

You can take tablet Aceclofenac, and tablet Omez. You may require strapping of fingers after consultation. Apply diclofenac gel or volini spray locally.

I will suggest you to follow up with detailed history or consult with an orthopedician for detailed examination with reports.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale
