Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had radiofrequency ablation on the back of my calf and I m having numbness there. Is that normal? Will it go away? Had it for about week now. The procedure was done two weeks ago. I m suppose to have the other one done this week not sure if I want to.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Numbness is a side effect of radiofrequency ablation. You can use: -anti inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen three times a day -apply ice to the sore area to alleviate discomfort
Full relief will typically occur within 2 to 3 weeks after the procedure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
