Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. 32 yo male. Both testes were undescended. Rt orchiectomy/Lt orchiopexy during childhood. Left testis now had IGCNU. Prior vasectomy so no fertility issues. Unsure if I should elect monitoring or orchiectomy. Also, I wouldn t choose to get a prothesis if i chose orchiectomy (none on Rt side now), will scrotum shrink or would I need surgery to remove excess skin.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
1. Get your testosterone levels checked to know whether testis is functional or not for male hormones
2. Meet a oncologist and get to know the risk of cancer in undescended testis 3. My suggestion is to get it removed, as it may also contain the IGNCU and increased risk of malignancy
4. Other option is orchipexy but it needs surveillance regularly with ultrasound.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
