Is Outbreak Of Whiteheads On The Face Normal After A Derma Roller Procedure?

Had first session derma roller done just over 72hours ago to help with cystic acne under the skin (not active on surface). The last 24hours have had very excessive peeling of dead skin all over face, just a little on chin remaining this morning. The new fairly bright pink skin underneath is now starting to show a breakout of whiteheads. Is this normal and do you just leave them to disappear on they re own?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It looks like a side effect of the use of poor derma rollers or hypersensitive reaction/allergy of the skin. You need to see a skin specialist, get physically examined. In the meantime take anti-allergy medicine (allegra/levocetrizine) & Evion-400. You can use water-based moisturizer to prevent dryness of the face. Take care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Nupur K.
