Hi,

Yes, if the patient is symptomatic with low heart rate or sick sinus syndrome or complete heart block need pacemaker implantation.

In case of arrhythmia or dilated cardiomyopathy may need an implantable defibrillator. Right now we don't know what type of heart problem he has?

Please consult your Cardiologist/physician they will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
