Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 6 year olds first tooth, a molar has just fell out brushing his teeth. It looks as though the root is still firmly in place in the gum. There's a bit of blood and pain. He's had issues with this tooth in particularly as a month back he snapped it with a fork. Should i be concerned re the root?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems the crown portion of the tooth has fallen off and it can be probably due to fractured tooth caused due to snapping g with the fork..
It can also be possibly due to infection in tooth that might have led to easy breakage caused due to tooth weakening secondary to infection..
I would suggest you to consult a Pedodontist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray can help in diagnosis..
In case if there is complete loss of crown then the root need to be extracted..
Hope this helps..
Regards
