Is Pain And Swelling In Right Foot Post Being Hit Against Ankle A Cause For Concern?

I walked into an iron door stopper and struck the ankle bone (my ankles are quite bony) in the inside of my right foot..quite hard. Was intensely painful for 30 seconds, now swelling coming on. If pain &swelling persists, should I seek medical attention? I m worried it might be fractured. .what s the symptoms?

Hello dear user, thanks for consulting Healthcaremagic and sharing your concerns, I don't think that you have any fractured as long as you can bend your foot in different angles, walk or tolerate the pain.
Probably you got a muscles injury or joint distended, I advice you an ice bag every 2-3 hours the first 2 days, take some anti-inflammatory/pain killers 2-3 times a day OTC, apply gentle ice/ hot gel or spray 3 times a day, I suggest vitamins supplements and limit your physical activities if the symptoms still persist a physician should be consulted
Please kindly rate if my advise has been helpful
Wishing you a good health
