Hello, I have been experiencing brief pain while urinating for the past week now. I went to the doctor to get tested for STD s yesterday and am awaiting results. I started to notice discharge yesterday that was clear. Here s where it gets tricky. I have had 3 sexual partners in the past year (all unprotected)... one of them is who I am currently dating. The first partner, I had sexual relations with the Summer of 2015. She told me today she had an STD test in August and that came back negative (no std s). The second, I have sex with once on November 14, 2015. Reached out to her today. She got tested in September and was STD free. The third, my current girlfriend, just had an STD test done last week and she told me that the results came back and she was STD free (and we have been having sex since October). What is the likelihood that I DO NOT have an STD?
Hi, Thanks for writing to HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. STD cannot be diagnosed solely by a symptom you are experiencing like pain during urination. Since you are mentioning about the discharge which is clear, it could be due to inflammation of the urethra. In any case, you can wait for the results and then get treated accordingly. Also, you can get Urine routine examination and Urine culture and sensitivity done to rule out urinary tract infection. If you find any abnormality in the report, you can consult Urologist for advise and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
