Is Pain In The Back And Legs A Sign Of CIDP?

Hi Dr. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia years ago but I am always in pain since then. The pain is localized in my back, legs and head I.e. Migraines, ears throat etc. I have just heard of Cidp and am wondering if there is a connection with fibromyalgia. Many thanks.

Hello,

Since you have a history of Fibromyalgia you may experience widespread pain, headache, stiffness or fatigue.

If you are taking proper treatment for fibromyalgia, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, eating healthy food & maintaining proper weight as per BMI, why should you get CIDP?

If you are neglecting yourself & not going for follow up treatments, your symptoms may complicate to inflammation of the nerves & never roots.

Visit a neurologist, get all Nerve conduction tests and required Imaging tests done to assess the severity of your nerve issues. Avoid getting psychosomatic for it will worsen your symptoms.

Take food good for the nerves, avocados, eggs, salmon, almonds, fish, berries, green veggies, fruits, nuts.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
