Is Pain Underneath My Right Rib Cage Related To A Liver Issue?

I have a constant slight pain underneath my right rib cage...my wife thinks I may have a liver issue? I don t think it s form exercise and I drink wine occasionally on the weekends but don t abuse alcohol or smoke. Any ideas what may be causing the pain?

Hi,

It can be muscular or related to lung too but yes more possibility is of liver or gall bladder which are both located int he same area.

It's better to get a liver function test as well as ultrasound abdomen in fasting to look for liver as well as gall bladder.

Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful.

If pain persists, viral serologies and CT may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
