Is Pain While Using Suppository Normal After Hemorrhoid Lancing?
I recently had a hemorrhoid lanced and about a day and a half later trying to use the suppository I feel like I can t get it in and it is painful as I push deeper. I have a schedule with a specialist on the 26th. Is this cause for immediate concern? When trying to get the suppository in I think I hurt it some more and I bled for a couple of minutes and it was a fair amount. Had a clot piece on it. I m not sure if I should wait? I hear this might be normal for a couple of weeks. But I can t get the suppository in to stay.
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Some amount of pain during use of suppository normal. 2. After hemorrhoid lancing, mild healing with fibrosis will be occurring. Due to suppository being inserted and stretching, the pain is normal. 3. Yes, it could be present for upto 2 weeks. The pain will reduce overtime. Take fiber rich diet along with good hydration. Soft stools will reduce recurrence of hemorrhoid. If pain is severe, ibuprofen will be helpful. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
