Is Part Removal Of Bladder Advisable For A Person With Severe Back Spasms?

My husband of a fit 88 has a Ileal conduit, urine coming straight from kidneys to stoma...it works well. Has some problems, which saw him getting a tube in his back to drain the left kidney. In two weeks time he will have all this corrected, and will live with the ic. My concerns are we have to make a decision whether they will take part or all of the bladder out at the same time, as he has terrible spasms, which they don t know where it s coming from? Do we leave the bladder ther or not, don t want to have them nick the bowel and then have another bag to contend with. He had protate cancer 25 years ago, so surgeon says it s not Cancer, but in taking the bladder may not leleave him off the pain? Help!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptom of pain during sex and while passing motion simulates to symptoms of pelvic inflammation. An MRI of the part will pin point / exclude the possibility which will help to plan further management.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
