Is Pep Treatment Necessary After Having Unsafe Sex With Low Risk Person?
hi, i had sex with another male last night and the condom broke. However there was no precum/ ejaculation, and the episde was only for 5 minutes, iv been to the hospital who have put the individual who i had contact with at a low/medium risk. But im unsure whether to take the PEP treatment
The status of the individual you had contact with is paramount in determining if you should be put on pep or not. If his status is not known then you need the pep. since the condom broke, though there was no precum nor ejaculation, you both might have sustained bruises through which contamination could have been transmitted.
Hope this helps Dr Achuo
