Is Pericarditis And Pleuritis Serious Condition?
My 22 year old son was recently diagnosised with pericarditis and pleuritis. He s out of state at school. They did a CAT scan, ekg and blood work. He saw a cardiologist this week and needs a stress test, ekg and more blood work. He s in good health overall. Is this a serious condition?

Pericarditis and pleuritis are diseases which should be taken seriously.
The most important thing is to find a reason and receive appropriate treatment.
After full recovery he should be monitored for some period, if there is no recurrence then everything will be ok with him.
