Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am diabetic diagnosed 1 yr ago with ac1 of 6.8. Been getting sweats day and night. My dr recently took my a1c again and checked for thyroid and took urine sample. A1c has gone up top 7.3. I have been monitoring my sugar extra when I get these sweats ...most of the time it spikes but sometimes it is lower. Most of the time my sugar is around 110-120. When it spikes it can be as high as 217 or more, and low has been around 85. it has spiked and been low on the same day. I am watching what I am eating. Do you think this is all my diabetes?

Is Persistent Profuse Sweating Due To Diabetes?
Hi, Your sweating is related to autonomic neuropathy involving sudomotor systems, due to diabetes. Hyperhidrosis (persistent profuse sweating) result from sympathetic nervous system dysfunction. Apart from adequate glycemic control, anticholinergic e.g. Glycopyrrolate oral may help. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
