Is Persistent Raspy Voice Post Treatment For Pneumonia In Lungs A Cause For Concern?
I recently had pneumonia in both lungs. I ve been out of the hospital since Tuesday and have finished my antibiotics. But my voice still sounds raspy like someone who s smoked 40 years. I am not a smoker. When will my voice return? Or could this be permanent?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Raspy voice post infection and its treatment could persist for few more days due to edema of pharynx and larynx caused due to infection. Not to worry much as this is temporary and you can get back to normal soon. Kindly take the following measures so that it will help you to recover early. 1. Syrup containing Ambroxyl and Cetrizine. 2. Salt water gargling with warm water thrice a day. 3. Throat soothening agents like medicated lozenges. Avoid cold items like refrigerated water, cool drinks or ice creams during this recovery period. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
