Is Pneumonia A Contagious Disease?

Recently I had the opportunity to speak w a certain healthcare provider who begged to differ with me when I noted that there are forms of pneumonia that can be contagious, specifically viral and bacterial. I hold strongly that I am correct and that certain types are contagious. Am I mistaken?

Viral infections, in general, are contagious.
Bacterial pneumonia especially tubercular pneumonia is contagious.
